Plantation of trees/shrubs/herbs/hedge plants at various sites of North campus and colleges of the University of Delhi
A series of native tree-planting events to enhance and rejuvenate green spaces was launched under patronage of the Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi, on 15th August 2018. At least 2000 saplings of native and established tree species of Delhi (representing 26 taxonomic families) were planted near buildings of the Faculties of Mathematics; Social Sciences; Music; Arts and Sciences. Saplings were gifted to the Garden committee by alumni from Tata Power-DDL Ltd., as well as Government nurseries. Saplings raised by 'malis' of the University garden committee were also used.

Various colleges of the University participated in Varsha Vriksharopan 2018 drive with tree species like ‘Kadamba’ (Neolamarckia cadamba), ‘Shahtoot’ (Morus nigra), ‘Amaltas’ (Cassia fistula), ‘Kachnar’ (Bauhinia variegata) and ‘Jacaranda’ (Jacaranda mimosifolia). Students of college eco-clubs and teachers of Acharya Narendra Dev College, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, Janaki Devi Memorial College, Kalindi College, Lady Shri Ram College, Shivaji College, Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College and Sri Venkateshwara College were at the fore-front of tree-planting events.
