The 63rd Annual Flower Show of the University of Delhi was held successfully on the 5th of March, 2021 at the Mughal Garden (opposite the Vice-Regal lodge), North campus, University of Delhi. The event was inaugurated by Prof. D. P. Singh, Chairman, University Grants Commission, in the presence of Prof. P.C. Joshi, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (acting); Dr. Vikas Gupta, the Registrar; Prof. Balaram Pani, the Dean of Colleges; Prof. Suman Kundu, Director of South Campus; Shri Girish Ranjan, the Finance Officer; and other dignitaries of the University. In a first of its kind, the traditional floral splendor of the Flower show was captured by drones and available on live webcast at www.du.ac.in  Rolling shields, cups and trophies were awarded to various colleges, hostels/halls, schools and institutions who competed in 35 categories of potted plants, lawns & gardens. The hard work of “malis” was celebrated and a new category of “Corona warrior malis” were awarded to recognize outstanding service towards upkeep of garden activities during the pandemic related lockdown. A large number of participants competed in virtual photography and video-graphy competitions aimed at celebrating the theme of “Diversity of flowers, fruits and vegetables in India” “भारतीय पुष्प, फल एवं शाक विविधता” as well as gardens & green activities of participating institutions. Virtual exhibits showcasing the diversity of flora and fauna associated with the Biodiversity Parks of Delhi, archival footage of past flower shows, and nature in north-east India were available at www.universitygardens.du.ac.in The Flower show saw resplendent displays of flowering plants including dahlias, buttercups, garden nasturtiums, foxgloves, irises, ferns, bonsai, cacti and succulent plants.
