The 64th Annual Flower Show of the University of Delhi, based on the theme “Floral diversity and rejuvenation” (पुष्प विविधता एवं पुनर्युवीकरण) was held on the 4th March, 2022 at the Mughal Garden (opposite the Vice-Regal lodge), North Campus, University of Delhi. The event was inaugurated by Honorable Om Prakash Kohli, Former Governor of Gujarat, in the presence of Prof. Yogesh Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, University of Delhi; Dr. Vikas Gupta, the Registrar; Prof. Balaram Pani, the Dean of Colleges; Prof. Prakash Singh, Director of South Campus and other dignitaries of the University and beyond. The University Garden was resplendent with floral exhibits, succulents, cacti, foliage plants, bonsais etc that reflected the colours and diversity of spring blossoms and greenery. A number of participants (individual and institutions) competed in virtual photography and videography competitions, time-lapse rangoli and flower arrangements , celebrating the multi-hued splendour of flowers and foliage. The Flower Show was available on live webcast at www.du.ac.in. Rolling shields, cups and trophies were awarded to various colleges, hostels/halls, schools and institutions that competed in 35 categories of potted plants, lawns & gardens. A special feature was the award of “Garden Bandhu” to the Bio-diversity Parks of Delhi Development Authority at Center for Environmental Management of Degraded Ecosystems, as the largest conservation outreach program of University of Delhi. The stupendous efforts of University gardeners (maalis) were recognized and Best Maalis were felicitated for their outstanding service towards upkeep of gardens. The virtual/hybrid Flower Show was opened to a large throng of enthusiastic visitors in the afternoon.

 

“पुष्प विविधता और पुनर्युवीकरण” विषय पर आधारित दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय की 64 वीं वार्षिक पुष्प प्रदर्शनी 4 मार्च, 2022 को मुगल गार्डन (वाइस-रीगल लॉज के सामने),  नॉर्थ कैंपस में आयोजित की गयी थी ।  कार्यक्रम का उद्घाटन माननीय गुजरात के पूर्व राज्यपाल श्री. ओम प्रकाश कोहली जी  ने , प्रो. योगेश सिंह, माननीय कुलपति, दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय; डॉ. विकास गुप्ता, रजिस्ट्रार; प्रो. बलराम पाणि, कॉलेजों के डीन; प्रो. प्रकाश सिंह, निदेशक, साउथ कैंपस और अन्य गणमान्य व्यक्तियों की उपस्थिति में किया। यूनिवर्सिटी गार्डन फूलों की प्रदर्शनी में सकुलेंट्, कैक्टस , पत्तेदार पौधे, बोन्साई आदि जैसे  पौधौं से जगमगा रहा था, जो वसंत के फूलों और हरियाली के रंगों और विविधता को सामने लाता है। कई प्रतिभागियों (व्यक्तिगत और संस्थानों) ने आभासी फोटोग्राफी एवं वीडियोग्राफी प्रतियोगिताओं और फूलों की व्यवस्था, बगीचों और हरित गतिविधियों में फूलों और पत्तों के  बहुरंगी वैभव का जश्न मनाया। पुष्प प्रदर्शनी सीधा प्रसारण  www.du.ac.in पर उपलब्ध था। विभिन्न कॉलेजों, छात्रावासों/हॉल, स्कूलों और संस्थानों को रोलिंग शील्ड, कप और ट्राफियां प्रदान की गईं, जिन्होंने 35 श्रेणियों के पौधों, लॉन और उद्यानों में प्रतिस्पर्धा की। दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के सबसे बड़े संरक्षण आउटरीच कार्यक्रम के रूप में डिग्रेडेड इकोसिस्टम के पर्यावरण प्रबंधन केंद्र में दिल्ली विकास प्राधिकरण के जैव-विविधता पार्कों को "गार्डन बंधु" के पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया। उद्यानों के रख-रखाव की दिशा में उत्कृष्ट सेवा के लिए विश्वविद्यालय के मालियों के शानदार प्रयासों को मान्यता दी गई और सर्वश्रेष्ठ मालियों को सम्मानित किया गया। वर्चुअल/हाइब्रिड वार्षिक पुष्प प्रदर्शनी को दोपहर में बड़ी संख्या में उत्साही दर्शकों के लिए खोला गया।
